Our Nel Family
The Nel family have been farming on Vanrhynshoek for almost 100 years (1925 – 2022). It has always been a family dream to build a house on top of the Hantam Mountain. The house is proudly ‘designed’ by ourselves. We want guests to enjoy spacious bedrooms, open living spaces decorated in an artistic, minimalistic style with personal touches. The main focal point remains the celebration of our beautiful natural scenery. Enjoy Majestic mountain views while relaxing in the hot tub.
There are no other dwellings in sight.

Johan & Ronelle Nel
We are the 4th generation on the farm. We are passionate about the Karoo, farming, and family as well as meeting new people! Ronelle is responsible for running the Guesthouse and its reservations. Johan is a full time sheep and lucern farmer. He is the handy- and go-to-man. We have three sons Sebastian, Benjamin and Ruben.

They are the 3rd generation on the farm. They love farmlife, their grandchildren and socializing. Lourine’s home baked rusks, apricot jam and greenfigs are to die for.
